CLEAN WATER

Access to clean and safe drinking water remains one of Liberia’s greatest challenges.
Although the country receives abundant rainfall throughout the year, millions of Liberians still struggle to find safe water for drinking, cooking, and sanitation. Many communities rely on hand-dug wells and surface water sources that are easily contaminated by waste, flooding, and poor sanitation systems.

The Reality

  • Low Access: Less than 10% of Liberians have access to safely managed drinking water.

  • Rural Dependence: Over 70% of the population depends on shallow wells and hand pumps, many of which are unsafe or broken.

  • Health Risks: Waterborne diseases like cholera and diarrhea remain among the leading causes of illness, especially for children.

  • Pollution Threats: Industrial waste, mining, and poor waste management have polluted rivers and groundwater.

  • Sanitation Gap: Nearly half the population lacks proper toilets or sanitation facilities, increasing the risk of water contamination.

    Our Mission

We believe clean water changes everything — health, education, and opportunity all begin with safe drinking water.
Through the Amos Foundation, we are working to bring sustainable water solutions to communities in need across Liberia.
Our goal is to help build and restore wells, provide water filters, and support local education on hygiene and sanitation.

How You Can Help

Your support can:

  • Fund new water wells and hand pumps

  • Provide clean water filters for families

  • Train communities on maintaining clean water systems

  • Help end waterborne illnesses in rural areas

Together, we can bring life, hope, and health through the gift of clean water.
Every drop counts.
